New 'solventS' Service

Bioniqs (York, UK) have formally launched their green solvent selection service under the title of ‘solventS’. The service involves the identification and design of environmentally friendly solvents that offer performance and efficiency improvements over many hazardous materials.

Robert Newton, Bioniqs Marketing Manager, states that “this unique service aims to provide industries such as the Chemical and Pharmaceuticals with greener alternatives to conventional solvents.” He adds that “the service is timely as many conventional solvents are becoming more difficult and expensive to use due to increasingly stringent environmental and safety legislation such as REACH”.

Through the ‘solventS’ service Bioniqs identify and design optimized products that meet a range of specific criteria. The end result is a product that adds value to each customers business through improving technical performance, minimizing environmental impact and reducing costs.

This service is made possible by the high-throughput screening and design capabilities of Bioniqs solvent modelling software and proprietary database of over 12 million solvent permutations (including both ionic and molecular solvents). This infrastructure coupled with Bioniqs solvent expertise facilitates the practical and cost-effective identification of alternative solvents.
