Solvent Selection

Our solventS service identifies optimal solvents for you in one/two stage studies. You can view a graphical representation of this service here.

1) Screening Study (2-4 weeks, 450 solvents)
Firstly, we can quickly screen the marketplace of commercially available green solvents (esters, sulfones, ionic liquids, carbonates, etc) using our unique solvent simulation software and in-house expertise to identify the most suitable product for you.

2) Design Project (6-12 months, >12 million solvents)
If there is not an ideal candidate from existing materials we can utilize our proprietary solvent database and advanced design software to create a new solvent that fully meets all of your criteria. We can then assist with IP licencing, scale-up and supply of the new solvent.

Proprietary Solvent Database
We use our property-alignment software to screen over 12 million solvent permutations, many of which have never been made before, in order to define the most appropriate solvent system for your needs.

This proprietary asset incorporates molecular modelling based on pharmaceutical industry techniques and is refined using solubility parameter algorithms and empirical data. Also incorporated into the database is our 'ROSETTA' system, which is equally applicable to both molecular and ionic systems. The database allows us to evaluate relevant parameters including performance-specific aspects and more generic requirements such as biodegradability, toxicity and cost.
